📝 Description

Vedic Mind Micro Arcade groups two short playable teaser games into one package. Learners can choose Near-Base Sprint for fast multiplication near 100 or Ending-in-5 Square Flash for squaring numbers ending in 5. Both use score, timer, streaks, three lives, difficulty levels and sound effects, then direct players to the full Vedic Mind learning app.

📋 Instructions

Open the game and choose one of the two micro games. Select Easy, Normal or Hard and press Start. Each micro game has 8 rounds, 3 lives, a countdown timer and score bonuses for streaks. Use Back to Hub to switch between Near-Base Sprint and Ending-in-5 Square Flash. Turn sound on or off with the speaker button.

Learning objectives

  • Apply a complement-to-100 multiplication shortcut where applicable
  • Square a number ending in 5 using its tens prefix
  • Check mental results by ordinary multiplication

Concepts and principles

  • For integers (100−a)(100−b), the product is 100(100−a−b)+ab; if ab has one digit it must be written as a two-digit suffix.
  • For (10n+5)², compute n(n+1), append 25; this is algebra, not a historically verified attribution.
  • A trick is useful only within its stated numerical pattern.

Examples and worked solutions

Independent teaching example (not verified as an in-game prompt): Multiply 97×96 using deviations from 100, then square 35.
Worked solution: 97×96: deviations are 3 and 4; left part 97−4=93, right part 3×4=12, giving 9312. For 35², 3×4=12 followed by 25 gives 1225.

Guided practice

  1. Select one of the available arithmetic modes
  2. Work out a solution before committing the answer under the timer
  3. Recalculate an example using distribution to explain why the shortcut works

Expected observations and explanations

  • Fast arithmetic is more reliable when the structural pattern is recognised before the shortcut is applied.
  • Worked feedback should be understood, not merely memorised.

Assessment questions and answers

What is 45² by the ending-in-5 rule?
Answer: 4×5=20, then append 25: 2025.
Why does 98×99 equal 9702?
Answer: (100−2)(100−1)=10000−300+2=9702.
